Nashville is known most widely as the home of country music, surrounded by scenic countrysides full of rolling hills peppered with plantation homes dating back to Civil War times, rustic barns, and classic Southern charm. Visions abound of watching distant sunsets while relaxing on a front porch swing swaying in a gentle breeze with a platter of fried green tomatoes and Mason jars full of sweet tea or lemonade. These elements, and more, contribute to a modern vintage and shabby chic  approach to entertaining and celebrating life’s big events with Southern hospitality.

Then there’s the uptown style found when turning attention closer to Nashville’s city center touting rich, cosmopolitan offerings complete with a vibrant skyline, urban high-rise lofts, fine restaurants, world-renown art musea catering to a sophisticated crowd ignited by the sight of city lights at dusk while laughing on a roof-top patio with plates of decadent appetizers and martini glasses brimming with all deliciousness that makes a great cocktail.

For wedding parties with this city flare, Sambuca is your place. Situated in the heart of The Gulch, a mixed-use neighborhood located in downtown Nashville, Sambuca boasts nearly 9,000 square feet of uptown sophistication for rehearsal dinners, receptions, and events from 30–500 guests, including the newly renovated Sky Loft, designed for 70–100 guests, with spectacular views of Nashville’s glittery skyline.

To celebrate the new space, Sambuca hosted Leap In The City on February 29 in conjunction with a Who’s Who of Nashville wedding professionals headed by Michelle Soll of Burlap & Brooches Events and Sara Fried of Fête Nashville.

I had the distinct honor of sponsoring the event and photographing a “rehearsal dinner” prior to the cocktail party, and I’d like to brag on more sponsors with these pictures. Big thanks for Susannah Smith White of Smith White Studio for getting the ladies dolled up for the photo shoot festivities.

Rickey Minder of Ode, Floral Artistry provided gorgeous floral centerpieces for tables decorated in Pewter Confetti linens provided by Jennifer French Byler of Connie Duglin Linen.

Jennifer Byler of Connie Duglin Linen also provided these luxurious red Candy Crinkle Taffeta linens for several cocktail tables throughout Sky Loft.

Big thanks to Melissa McBryde of Grand Avenue Transportation for providing the sleek, black Mercedes-Benz for the pre-party photo shoot.

Sky Loft’s glass walls face a skyline view of downtown Nashville and open to the streets below so passersby will know how cool your party really is.

It’s Ladies Night at Sambuca with many familiar faces from Nashville’s great community of wedding professionals and friends.

All of the event signage, including official logo and place cards and menu listings, were created by the Daiva Liktorius Grubb from Design in August, a branding and stationery studio.

The chefs at Sambuca prepared an array of delicious Southern fare including Mini Havarti Grilled Cheese with Sun-Dried Tomato Aioli, Smoked Chicken + Gouda Quesadilla Coins, Lobster Salad on Paprika Potato Chips, Pulled Pork Sliders with Wasabi Cole Slaw, Bacon-Wrapped Quail, Chili Pie Shooters, Bacon-Wrapped Grilled + Stuffed Jalapeños, Dr. Pepper Ribs with Watermelon Relish, Gourmet Prosciutto Mac + Cheese plus the LEAP-tini signature cocktail!

AND…to top it all off, Juanita Lane of Dulce Desserts delighted us with her delicious cake! This foodie loved this night for all the right reasons!

Other sponsors include the amazing team at Nashville Audio Visual, Chris Wheeler of Chris Wheeler Films, and Elaine Pardo Ingram of Picture This Nashville. Live music courtesy of the talented Reed Lawrence Thomas.

Leap In The City was a huge success enjoyed by 150+ who joined in the fun that spotlighted Nashville’s cosmopolitan side. I’m honored to be a part of this great community of party professionals creating exciting environments and menus for celebrating properly. Big thanks for Michelle Soll of Burlap & Brooches Events, Sara Fried of Fête Nashville, and Dana Patel of Sambuca for making it all happen. Cheers!
